If you know what you're doing, yes IMHO - the forums or eBay.

More people would bid on your coins when listed on eBay/HA/GC etc. but here on CT we're DESPERATELY WAITING for rainbow toners.... and there are no fees ;-)

Admittedly there will always be discerning collectors in every community who appreciate toners and can afford the premium. Many people like that don't hang around forums, though. :)

You mean what you think they're worth!
Why do only the fringe sellers deal in them? Maybe the mainstream sellers know they're just a fad and don't want to waste money on dubious inventory.

Dubious inventory? If we're not talking about AT crap, but gem BU coins which have developed unique colors, then heck I'll pay a strong premium for that treat!

It's as accurate an image of thin-film tone progression as you'll ever see. Utterly spectacular coin, and I simply don't care if that color was applied last week or not. :D

Maybe not such a high premium... also I prefer a more subtle toning, "monster toning" is just too much for my taste.

Mainebill's PCGS 1884-O above is what works for me. That one is to die for.

Sometimes less is more... but this is obviously the vanilla or chocolate flavor question :)
