I can't even find my place myself some days. It corresponds to no mailing address, and I use a P.O. box exclusively. Not even my iPhone can find my location when I'm home, and I am EXTRAORDINARILY well armed.
I collect and give to my grandchildren. Not much here. They live across the pond. Living large. Cheech
My family and some friends know I collect. There have been times I've shown some of my collection to friends, and often they have a complete look of disinterest, LOL. I live in a safe neighborhood and keep most of the more valuable coins in a SDB.
Nobody cares . . . . . I lost all my coins in a boating accident . . . Zombie thread resurrection of the week . . . . @paddyman98 , whatever happened to @Dougmeister ? Reading through THIS thread, it seems that I have competition . . . or at least a twin, separated at birth . . . Zoid
I’m slight paranoid about people finding out cuz they can steal my silver bullion coins in my mom’s bank account but I keep a very low profile but only my family knows and they won’t steal anything.
and I pretty know wat u mean family knows is person blah blah blah dere mi familia thx and I can’t keep secret from them or PUNISHMENT for me
You should see my "lack of security" and all the crap I keep at work. It would make most around here faint . . . . . Well, at least YOU'RE in the clear . . . . . . Ditto @paddyman98 ^^^. These days family is the worst. Do some research on "identity fraud" to find out who your biggest risks are . . . . .
That's prolly one of the reasons the bullion stays put . . . . . they know the proclivities of the owner . . . . . Z
It's not a secret, but I don't exactly advertise my hobbies either. I mean, I look at it this way, I probably have more value to steal in toys from the 1980s and 1990s and comic books and baseball cards than I do in coins. I probably have more value to steal in my fishing tacklebox in lures than I do in my coin collection. my coin collection is mint products and circulation finds. heck my guitar and amp or fish aquarium I have more invested in than my coin collection. LOL. If I died and I was a person inheriting something of my choice from me, I'd definitely go with the toys and action figures, but maybe the comic book boxes..... hard choice. the coins would be in last place really. that said, I don't want to give up any of it, ever.
love those 450 Bushmasters. Just an awesome cartridge. A friend of mine uses it for hunting. Do you like refinishing metals with the Birchwood Perma Blue and other stock refinishing stuff ? have you ever used Alkanet root?
That's my little "museum." I took a photo of that and had guys on a 2nd Amendment forum try to identify each caliber for a chance at a giveaway I was doing. Here is the original photo . . . . . I have at least one gun that shoots every cartridge seen. I only use the Birchwood for touch ups. Haven't tried to blue an entire gun as of yet. Z
I keep my coin collecting pretty darn private and always have an eye on security, including firearms quick access and my wife's two attack cats. They will protect our house as long as the invaders aren't carrying kibbles. I've used the Birchwood for touchups also, but I have completely cold re-blued several short and long arms using Brownell's Osphoblue. Laborious but if you're careful and develop technique, you can get a nice, durable, blotch-free medium-deep blue. I got really good results on a Ruger .22 auto pistol that looks sweet with my hand-made walnut grips.
Seeing how we have taken this thread completely off the rails, and continuing with your thought above, this is my most recent build. It is a vintage / modern fusion. In that respect, it probably has a LOT in common with numismatics. Gotta love the serial number on this one . . . . . . Z
