I wouldn't worry as long as it's pvc free. Especially if you like nicely toned coins. That's how so many of the beauties came about!
If they are in 20 pocket vinyl pages, you really should remove them and place the coins in a 2x2 box. If the windows on the 2x2 feel at all sticky, need to replace those as well. I've seen coins and medals in 2x2 holders that had been inside the same vinyl pages since the 1960s, and the PVC from the pages had literally soaked through the cardboard and drenched the coins in the 2x2s.
I use PVC-free flips and pages. Slowly transitioning from cardboard flips to BCW brand all plastic flips.
Boy you weren't kidding. I threw one in my safe on 1/5 and it was already pink. I upped it to two. Good thing I bought a handful of them.
You may be initially drying your space out and that process may slow down after you reach a certain point. My safe did that when I first loaded my coins and the desiccants had to be replaced frequently until it slowed down to an even pace.
I Keep mine in a safe that is bolted to the concrete floor in the basement of my house (it is a walk out basement) the safe has a built in dehumidifier and the house has an alarm. I'm currently visiting them almost weekly. My weapons are in a separate safe and you may not believe me but I actually have a safe built into the wall with a picture hiding it
