Its hard to tell Selena. If its a fake, I am not sure what coin its imitating. So, if I do not know what coin its imitating, its hard for me to tell you what THAT coin is worth. Btw, you say Nero sestertius, it sure does not look like any Nero I have ever seen.

Its kind of like a fake handbag with "Gucci" written on it, but does not look like any bag Gucci ever made. How do you say how much that bag would be worth if it were a real Gucci if you have no idea what bag the fake was trying to imitate? Its impossible to answer really.

By the way, I do know how frustrating it can be. We know coins. We collect them, are knowledgable about them. Most people don't, so they find something that looks old to them, looks to them just like other ancient coins, and they think their object "has" to be real. I very much can see why they don't see what we see, and can take some comments here as offensive. Learning to spot fake ancient coins take a lot of time. I have literally seen over 100,000 coins I bet over the years, and still am not nearly as good at it as many people. Its just something you learn over time, but like I said I do understand how frustrating it can be for someone without this background to just have to take our word for it that the item is not real.

It's worth is as simple as what someone is willing to pay. Who ever you can find that pays you the most money will be its worth. To me it's worth zero, because I don't want the coin, someone else may..

Seriously? Just above your thread, I wrote a nice, helpful response to you explaining that since we have no IDEA what this thing is trying to copy, we have no IDEA what the value of what it is trying to copy would be worth. I even wrote a nice little Gucci bag example to try to clarify.

    I'm out.
