My great grandma gave me her old coins and this is the only coin that Ive not find a price for. i just seen one sale for 5,000 on pawn stars, and now i'm wondering if mine may be worth just as much. is there anyone that could tell me for sure.. it is in great condition.. its a double headed coin that is exactly the same on both sides. it says 1789 1ST PRESIDENT U.S.A. 1797, with his face in the middle and across the bottom says GEORGE WASHINGTON. I would be very thankful for all or any help. Tks

Melinda, what I suspect you have here is not a coin, but rather a token or medal. The value for this piece is diminished by the fact that it's been "holed".

From what I see, it's the bust used on the washington quarter, only reversed; this leads me to think that its a souvenir or token from after 1932, I assume its probably from a museum or something, not worth much really considering its more of a souvenir.

I could be wrong, haven't seen any of the 60's Presidential coins to compare it to, but from what I've seen, its a souvenir not worth much at all.

well what i heard on tv today

that it is a medal, but it was made wit the hole, its a coin that people use to wear around there neck after washington died as a token of the apprication. and it was sold to the pawn shop for 5000.
