An "authentic" No FG has a nice premium associated with it but it must be authentic. By that, I mean that in 1972 there are quite a few 1972-D coins where the Initials are "grease filled". As such, they have no premium. A grease filled coin still has the letters or parts of the letters visible simply by tilting the coin in the right light. A true No FG has no initials since they were polished off during die retrestment due to a clash. From all that Ive seen, authentic No FG coins are of a single die marriage where the obverse has distinct die polishing. Current PCGS Price Guide values range from $275 in XF40 up to $650 in MS64. Only 24 have met the designation and the MS64 is a recent addition. I expect that the prices are sustainable to a certain degree in that they have been worth "hundreds" for better than 4 years. The 1972-D is often overshadowed by the 1982 No FG coins but only in shear numbers as the 1982 coins can usually be found "by the roll" and are quite common. 1983 and later coins do exist but are often the result of grease filling. For your particular coin, a close up of the Initials area and the "WE TRUST portion of the motto is required for proper attribution.
