How much do you spend on a coin?

Probably in an average range of $90 to $110. I have never exceeded $2000. I have sold or broken up all of my sets and now just concentrate on classics with strong eye appeal. This has increased the amount of shows I attend, since I don't see enough change in the on hand inventory of my local coin dealers. This gets me traveling more but I some what enjoy that. Being retired, I have the time.

$5.00 the most I have ever spent. And I love all of them. :)

All over the place. It depends on what I see at the lcs or find online. My main intention is to get the cheaper stuff, but when I see the high grade coins I tend to forget the cheaper coins.

If it counts, I will be paying $150 on two coins. Shattering the record of what I paid on a coin by far.

    $1.00 - $1300.

Quite a spread, but I will purchase what I feel is undervalued or something I really want. Of course a lot depends on the condition of my wallet at the time.

Is there anyone who doesnt have or need a 16-d merc? Seems like it comes up in every thread. That is one popular key date.

I think you have too much time to spend with Excel. As does WingedLiberty!

I try not to keep track as my wife would kick my a$$. There's a reason the shredder was invented...

Mine are all over the place. I like the Westward Journey set I just got off of e-Bay for $25, but I like my Morgans and am rapidly running out of the ones in mint state that can be had for less than $400 or so. That sucks...

Right now for me I have different levels I'm willing to spend.

For Bullion, I'll pay up to spot price depending on trends of silver and gold. For collectible coins right now I'm not willing to pay much more than $100 for a coin, but then I have a lot of openings in the collection that can be filled for under $25.

    And they will be?

The most i've spent is under a hundred dollars, and I have paid face for things. I have only a handful of things that I have paid over 50 for. I love every piece...

$3,100 would be the top. But it wasn't all cash, I unloaded some other coins to swing the deal. No regrets about it either. For some reason, it's the coins that hurt a little when you buy them that go on to be the real core part of any collection.

$10-30 normally. But recently they are more like $50. Right now I am eyeing a coin for $195.00 Oh no, where is this leading?
