so i see some gold at auction, and the question is, do you pay market price

and hope it goes up, or do you keep your max bid lower by a certain amount?

If I am going to pay market price for anything, I go to a dealer. That way, I can get a return or deal with the individual if I am unhappy with what I buy. I only bid on items when I want to get a better deal.

Today, I am not buying PM's. I think it is a better time to sell a little at a time as the prices continue to climb. IMHO

youve got a point. maybe ill let this one go. i just dont see being able to actually get gold for less than market value.

went for 144. not sure if price was right but one bidder was bidding against themselves bidding twice in a row a few times. wonder if the seller had a helper?

well anyone who sells gold for much under market either needs to sell it badly... or is a fool.

In my opinion $144 was a great price. What you've got to remember is that fractionals are becoming scare. You just can't pic one up for spot anymore. So now that it's over how about telling us what it was or providing the link?

Yea, I would have bought it but, only if the shipping was around $5. This person is taking the buyer to the cleaners with $11.45 shipping from Tn. You did ok folding at $135, good for you.

Use Apmex and spot for your benchmark. If I buy from Fleabay I try to pay no more than a percentage point or three over and shipping in the U.S. should be no more than $4-$8 depending on now much the coin weighs.

i.e. The coin is a 2010-1/10th ozt AGE, Apmex wants $158, spot is $137.5. I try and get it from Fleabay for no more (max bid) than $145.
