Bought a few more coins in fall of 2014. Said she still had the pennies and she and her daughter were going to roll them by date. I said I am still paying 3 cents each.
Bought some coins from a lady in spring of 2014. She said she had a lot of wheat pennies at home. I told her I pay 3 cents each. Bought a few more coins in fall of 2014. Said she still had the pennies and she and her daughter were going to roll them by date. I said I am still paying 3 cents each. Late in 2014 she called and said she was tired of looking at pennies and wanted to sell all of them. I stopped by the bank and got $800 in cash to take to the country. They had wrapped over 300 rolls by date. I took my coin counter in and counted the rest-over 55,000 and took them out in bags and gallon jugs. Total was approximately 78,300. Got to wondering what to do with that many wheats. Called a coin dealer in her area and sold them for 3.5 cents each. Dropped them off on my way home. He added them to the 250,000 he already has. He said he looked at one bag and found a 1911 in AU and one early mint mark. There was a time when I would have searched them myself. Oh to be young again.
