Last Monday, an LP2, along with a US Virgin Islands quarter, both, the first two 2009-dated coins I have ever received. Both coins were put aside for the potential "rarity" jar.
About 2-300 LP1, Same with LP 2 & 3 and about 100 or so LP4 All 2009 D. I am dumping all but 12 each that appear MS60+ that I am saving in a roll. I havde only came upon a few 2009 P so far except for those I swapped for. I have 2 each in flips for my kids to deal with someday. LOL
As I go through rolls, once in a while I find one that looks very nice and seems to have been mixed with other cents without every being handled. You know, new rolls dumped into tills, tills dumped into counters, etc. Then I might pull it. However, without copper content, I too have no desire to amass more than is reasonable for a couple of sets. Man it is kind of a thrill to find a very nice older coin in a roll though. Many of us are in it for the hunt. IMHO
Zero for all five. If you're going to save modern business strikes, cherry pick some high grade uncs - the circulated ones aren't worth putting away.
I haven't counted, but I don't pull the 2010's at all. I might pull a couple just to have as examples. The 09's I guess I've pulled about 50 LP1's, 50 LP2's, 20 of the LP3's and so far 2 of the LP4's. I have a cash register and continue to pull every 09 I see, the 4's seem to be the most scarce as far as circulation goes so far. That can change fast enough. As a side note, I had a plastic roll of 07 D dimes that I just put in the till a couple days ago. All were uncirc'd and nice looking, but not my fancy, so off to circ they go. (wonder if any will follow the yellow brick road and visit the wizard)
I noticed a dramatic increase in the 2009 D LP4 in the last 20 rolls I went through. It was like all of a sudden, then I started getting a few in every roll. Like it took awhile to get them out there or something ? Of course, I rarely see ANY 2009 P
