<p>[QUOTE=&quot;Collect89, post: 1056301, member: 15445&quot;]<b>Now this chapter is over</b></p><p><br /></p><p>I attended every trial date &amp; watched his attorney get continuance after continuance.&nbsp; For the first 2-months after his arrest, he was free from jail.&nbsp;&nbsp; He was out on probation for a previous assault conviction and he was also on probation for a previous burglary crime spree.&nbsp; Do you believe that a guy on probation had been arrested for a new assault and 4 additional burglaries &amp; this guy was still walking around town?! </p><p><br /></p><p>After watching this guy walk out of the courtroom twice, I contacted the probation office (in a different town) &amp; got him re-arrested.&nbsp; Then, after my submitting a letter to the judge, the judge in my case increased his bail another $70,000.&nbsp; At least this kept him in jail for the rest of the trial on my burglary.&nbsp; &nbsp; </p><p><br /></p><p>The criminal justice folks are just swamped with individuals like this one.&nbsp; This guy probably would have continued to burglarize and make bail infinitely.</p><p><br /></p><p>Our prosecutor made a deal for 5-years eligible after 3 on my burglary and 5-years eligible after 3 on a subsequent attempted burglary.&nbsp; These two sentences are consecutive less the months he had served in 2010 during the trial.&nbsp; He accepted the deal because the alternative would be some charge of habitual/career criminal which would have included a 10 year sentence. </p><p><br /></p><p>I learned today that he got handed a 5 year and a 6 year sentence for his subsequent crimes in another town.&nbsp; Therefore, he should be locked-up for a while.&nbsp; Now this chapter is over.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
