How many Ancient Greek Cities can we get?

Pavlos You pick out the big men. I'll make them brave!

I think there are not going to be any coins anymore from cities starting with the letter B, as there are not that many of them, we have 9 cities at the moment. Nice coins btw @TIF

Let's start with the next letter, post your coins from ancient Greek cities starting with the letter C! If you still have coins starting with the letter B then they are welcome as well.

    I start:
    Colophon, Ionia
    [IMG]
    Alexander III the Great Drachm under Antigonos I Monophthalmos (310 B.C. - 301 B.C)

    Cyzicus, Mysia

I just LOVE this coin TIF!

I just HATE that numismatists can even CONCEIVE that ancient Carthage was GREEK! That would be like saying the Romans were part of the German tribes! Carthage was a distinct and separate culture that RIVALED the Romans (and Greeks), for dominance of the ancient world... reminds me of the Cold War between the USSR and the US, except they fought 3 NASTY wars.

    My 15 Shekels worth: :)

Pavlos You pick out the big men. I'll make them brave!

We have at the moment 14 cities starting with the letter C.

Since it has been some time we start with the next letter, post your Ancient Greek cities starting with the letters D and E. Since there are not many cities out there starting with D and E, I chose to do 2 letters combined. If you still have coins from cities starting with the letter A, B or C then they are obviously still welcome.

    I will start:

    Dodona, Epeiros
    [IMG]
Epirote League Bronze coin (234/3–168 B.C.). Dodona mint.
    Obverse:
Head of Zeus Dodonaeus left wearing oak wreath.
Reverse: Thunderbolt, ΑΠΕΙ/ΡΩΤΑΝ above and below in two lines, all inside oak wreath.

    Ephesos, Ionia
    [IMG]
Drachm from Ionia, Ephesos circa 500-420 BC.
    Obverse:
    Bee, EΦ-[EΣI].
    Reverse: quadripartite incuse square.

Looking forward seeing your beautiful coins!
