How long befor a package is considered lost?

I recently order a music CD from Germany (ebay) and I took about 4 weeks to show up.

Not sure if I've posted this already, but I had a coin two weeks late in being delivered. (USPS) It sat for a week in my town's regional depot for a week, then it got shipped to Puerto Rico. I filed a complaint and finally they found it.

 

The company just sent me an email. They said that they are keeping an eye on it and that they will file a lost or stolen claim after 14 days. Its 13 now and has not moved. I have only had one seller on Vcoins that never gave a refund and the coin was never given to a shipping office as it had no records of it being shipped. Seller said it was lost somehow before it got to the shipping office but they never gave a refund. I received my funds back but I had to go to the CC do dispute it. I think they wanted me to apply it to the next purchase. I don't think the package should be here in two weeks but when its stuck and shows no movement that is a bit concerning. But I have seen things come through even when mis-shipped. I also had a package go to my PO only to get sent to Puerto Rico and then once it hit there it seemed to rocket to my door. But it was really strange that its mis-shipped to an Island 1500 miles away. USPS what a disaster.

 

That's why I never look at the tracking. I'd be anxious each time. My packages from Germany probably would have looked as ominous.

 

I did have one issue where a coin was shipped from Australia and like this one sat at the air port for a few weeks. It finally arrived. This coin has been at the shipping office ready to send out for three weeks.

 

There seems to be some movement. The tracking now says its on its way to destination country. Hope its on the move now.

 

It depends, if mine, a day.
