This thread was started long before I started posting here. But why is it that when it popped up in the new threads list I immediately thought it was about teacher having to spend time grading?

I have many PMG notes 64-68 anything from 60 up is considered uncirculated though a EPQ or PPQ designation insures high grade paper quality with no marking
    rips or cuts

Basically started this thread to educate others on the art of paper grading to
give them a prospective on what to look for :)
would like to welcome you to this forum.

Paper money and the art of grading it span all types, i just happen to collect MPC
So any questions on that are welcome to answer your question Military Payment Certificates were printed by lithography rather then intaglio methods (like most U.S Currency) the major reason being cost, the paper used was planchett printed to thwart counter fitting operations.

    Lets Review:

In analyzing this note we know from the beginning it is gem uncirculated, so next
step is to look at the margins, they are off a little bit on the front top and bottom are very close so no points off for that but the right margin and the left side margin
are noticeably off so you have to make a deduction there, moving to the back there
is a significant margin difference side to side if not for the front this note would have
been dropped to a 65 as a future tip if you didnt all ready know the front and back
are scored on average as one side can make or break a note.

In moving to our next note from the same Series 611 this 10 Cent example is also
Gem Uncirculated and would be a great learning tool to compare with the previous note, so is it better or worse ? you decide, again this note will be on the 64-70 scale.
