there are two color envelopes on it. but there is also a plain, brown cardboard (not printed) sealed the two envelope for protection. so i mean if it is in its original unopen. will it command a premiun in the future?. will that cardboard affect the coins inside?.

Read my post again...that is how they have mailed the last few years....the Original envelope is inside the box...the box doesn't cimmand any premiun...some people might pay a tad more some a sealed box but a sealed box can be faked so really they don't make the set more valueble....
Nope..the carboard won't hurt the coins...

thanks speedy. at what year they start using this cardboard?. and again. let me ask you this question. what about damaged envelope or missing c.o.a.?. are they affect the pricing of that set?. is yes. why dealers put away many modern commemorative boxes, sleeves, and certificate?. are they selling them separately for those who want them?,

I'm not sure....my GDJMSP would know for sure....
Yes they will...don't ask me why...but most of the time if you see a set missing the COA or Envelope you will see it marked down just a tad...maybe $1 or $2....
Many dealers will take the sets and cut them open for one or two coins...then they sell the rest and keep the COA...then if they buy a set that doesn't have one or someone they know needs one they sell it for maybe $.50....

why not the u.s. mint using the plastic case for mint set instead of envelope and cardboard box?. will it be nice and more protective by using the case?. it the mint charge a little bit for case. the collectors are willing to pay it as the silver proof and proof set did. example. 16.95 per set for mint. let put it 20.95 for mint set with case.

For crying out loud....don't give the mint any ideas abotu making the price higher....they are too high as it is....the mint should go back to the prices they sold coins in the 40's...a few cents or dollars over face value...today it is greed..the mint just wants more and more money....if they need it they should just make some more.

if the u.s. mint decide to increase any amount to its sets or products. it simply can. if the proof set offer by the mint for $100.00. people still gonna buy it. sell it few. it become rare and the price skyrocket. sell it more. the mint gain more. the mint will not lose any. if the government allow them to buy back all the sets. then the mint will be bankrupt.

Don't bet on that....not many collectors are going to let the mint make them pay that price.....
    Don't bet on that either...

That is silly.....sure it sold out...but its by far not rare...the market hasn't shown that the people are willing to pay that....the reason for the price hike is as I've said before--2 things... HYPE and Greed...

speedy, if i use your carefulness & conservative way to judge coins and i should have not lost a lot of money in the stock market. anyway, keep up the good work. let's hope 2006 will be a better year for all of us (collectors) and the u.s.mint will not increase its prices.

Well thank you.....I can't say much about the Stock Market...I've never done anything with that part of the world...I almost did last year...I wanted about 5 shares in Google....I didn't...thought it was too much $$--by now I would have been buying a lot of NICE coins if I had!

    google

5 share of google initial offering price is 120.00 per share or $600.00 cost. now it is 426.50 per share or worth $2,132.50. it is just like you got something initial offer from u.s.mint and that one was a sold out. and boom , the price jumped. and you win.

    2006 u.s. mint products

i don't think any u.s. mint product for 2006 will be good for investment. year 2004 is the best followed by year 2005 and 1999. maybe year 2007 will shine again?. with the start of president's golden dollar. like it or not. that mis my prediction.

    2005 proof set $44.50

    2004 silver proof $56.50
2005 silver proof $46.50 - subject to increase after dec.25

    2004 proof 5 pc statehood $58.00

Talked to several dealers at the local show and they were pretty much in agreement. They feel that the 1st year issue of the matte finish will keep the set above mint price but in the long term, the set will not ever be as popular as the 1995, 1999 or 2004 and the price will reflect this. If this would have been a one-time experiment then it might have shared the limelight with the others. IMHO, Just another "fad" set thanks to all the hype and if you purchased them to sell, do it quick.

One of the big advertisers in Coin World (their name starts with 'coast'...) are still selling the set for $39.50. Perhaps it would be a good idea to buy some sets at that price before they raise it?
