Ok guys, I'm really stuck here. Browsing eBay I saw this error, off center Mercury Dime. PCGS has labeled it as a 1916 with Full Bands. But how do they know the coin's date, much less that the coin has full bands when the date and bands weren't even struck??? Or am I missing something? https://www.ebay.com/itm/-1916-MERC...5?pageci=527cdba5-d0f1-4558-b1eb-76affc1fae05
The seller's from Las Vegas..........you feelin' lucky? Buy the coin not the holder (which was probably made in China).
And the question continues! Here you go @1916D10C From another thread! https://www.cointalk.com/threads/pcgs-knows-all-apparently.318291/
Oh, we've seen that one before here, haven't we? I don't see any interruptions in the band separations. Do you?
It's ok.. It is a great question! Some members stated an error when the label was created. It happens! Here is an example from my collection - NGC Error Label - The $1 Dime
That thread was nothing short of interesting, Paddy, and serves as an example of why some folks here really get on the nerves of others.
Unlike every other cert verification on PCGS error coins I have seen, this one does not match up properly. And something just seems a bit off on the label itself...
Q. David Bowers. He was kicked off of here. He told Doug he was wrong and, well, you know how it goes.
Depends where “here” even is. Hey, you started it with all that multiverse hooey. Here’s my take on that - just because something can be elegantly explained mathematically, that does NOT imply its existence. The whole deal could be good old fashioned 4-dimensional space time with only one universe, and the rest of it is all just a whiteboard fudge. Hey Doug, what do you figger is the ratio of universes in which you do NOT take yourself waaaaay too seriously? I don’t know, but what I know for sure is that branch done branched waaaay outta here many iterations ago.
With an infinitude of universes there will be one where you two are actually the same person. Or squid. Or something...
