How do you justify your coin spending?

The ONLY explanation necessary is, "because I want to"
After your wife's wants and needs are met and your children's wants and needs are met, (within reason if you have teenagers)
    No other justification is needed.
I never did understand when lying to the person you chose as your mate became acceptable.

    Just my humble opinion

I find great secrecy the best option....then no justification is necessay and no lies are told, perfect!

Oh and only mention the profits on a sale and keep quiet about the losses. I find this keeps the
industrial peace and avoids dinner in the dog.

A little OT, but I'm reading a lot of people saying that younger kids are not into the hobby due to lack of money. I have to disagree with that, I have seen kids walk into a comic store and drop down $400 on Yu-gi-oh cards. And this happens on a regular basis. $300 for a single baseball card? Seen that too. Its not the money thats holding them back.
Kids are more interested in other things because they were not exposed to coins. They turn on the TV and see sports, they go shopping and see Batman on a shirt. Where else do you see collectible coins besides a coin shop? If their parents or friends don't show them coins, most young people could care less about it.

My wife was so happy that I stopped buying watches, that spending a few hundred a month on coins seems like a good thing! lol. If she mentions how much I spent on a specific coin, I always remind her how much I spent on some of my watches.

At the end of the day, we both know that I would never jeopardize the family for a material possession. I work, she stays home and plays, so I get to have my "toys."

    I don't ! No longer need to.

I started selling a few things on eBay awhile back and left that money in my PayPal account. I made some purchases and sales, etc and built coin "nest egg". I now have no need to explain what I spend, since it's money not included in the household budget.

    I feel lucky,
I've had some good fortune and believe at least I'll break even, although I could be wrong.
