That's funny! I use an old Rummikub carrying case. I have seen your case and ours is about twice the size of mine but it does the job.
I use a brief case with rollers. I carry some coins in boxes for offers. Referance books, want lists price guides a grading book. Roll it right up to my left side with handle all the way up. It also can carry a snack and drink. Note have you ever tried to sell coins at a show. It can open your eyes and sharpen your skills. I have sold for a small fee two collections that non collectors have gotten. If I run into a dealer that does not want to pay a reasonable amount for items, I then offer him low ball prices for his items. That wakes a few of them up. I say well you only wanted to pay $50 for a popular $100 item so I figured you would sell a $50 cost item for $65. That still gives you a profit for what you would pay for the item. That gets them talking and then I get a better offer. They have to make some profit. I do not work for nothing at my job. You have to also know that some items take along time to sell.
Unless you find it too embarassing, you could bring a pack mule outfitted with a couple of saddlebags.
I have a little thing that fits my phone ( I have it for grading, and prices purposes) flashlight, huge place for coins and cash that is over $80. I love the bag because I usually have a little sweater over it so bad people won't pull it off. Dan
Lol you too, huh? Just sneak it into the house and put in your other coins as soon as possible. Then if she says something just say, "This? I have had this for years!" There is one advantage to our wives not caring about our collection, they don't really know what we have in there and we don't.
I carry an old padded photo album -- about 12 inches wide and 4 inches tall. The photo sleeves and separating paper allows me to put in greysheet clips, my own personal interest lists, business cards, anything else I'd like to have handy and plenty of 2x2s. I just have to make sure I carry it with the open side up or the coins could slide out.
No my dear fellow, they are not that bad. But they do tend to get in the way when it regards "manly' thinking. Women are just wired differently. As my Grandfather once said, "women, you can't live with 'em and you can't live without 'em......
My wife is much more fond of coin collecting than my previous addictions. For the most part the crowd is respectable, and we are investing in something of value. I have not so fond memories of her busting into my poker dens at 3 in the morning and dragging me home.
After fumbling around previously with greysheets in my back pocket and loop and money in front pocket and putting purchased coins in shirt pocket or pant pocket I decided to try something different this time. I carried an over the shoulder laptop bag. It had a place for ink pens, in it I had my ipad which I loaded with the coins I needed to complete my large cent, and bust half set. Along w/ Specific other coins and supplies i was looking for. Also it has the PCGS grading app. All the data stays on the ipad so it will be there for the next show. I also put some of the bid/ask spreads on the lists so i didn't have to keep digging out the greysheets. I find it upsetting that when you buy the greysheet online as a PDF file you can only print it an cannot save it to ibooks where you could just access it on the ipad. I understand they don't want people ripping them offbut they should get with the times. I mean I could run off dozens of copies like most people do. The setup seemed to work really well for me because I had everything I needed on hand plus the coins I took to sell. Lack
