Acetone or isopropol(sp?) alcohol may work for you. Yours looks to have zinc rot though so it may be a lost cause. May I ask why it is special?

My belated condolences, Acetone will not react with the copper ( good), nor the zinc corrosion ( too bad) , but if it is any paint or resin ( other than epoxy), the acetone should work, Jim

If acetone doesn't work, try xylene (xylol).

HomeDepot. Nail polish remover is also made with xylene but it isn't pure enough I believe and will leave residue or something.

Uh...no, nail polish remover is either acetone or ethyl acetate. Xylene would more likely be paint remover.

I'm trying to get them interested in coin collecting. But, they won't put the electronic stuff down long enough to see if they might like it.
