How did this turn out?

    Take 2:

    Lights: Two veriflux full spectrum daylight 13 watt cfls (60 watt eqiv.) Shone almost directly on the slab (any closer and the bulb reflects on the coin). In a 10/2 position.

    Angle: Straight above, like a copy stand.

    Shot at auto white balance.
    ISO: 100
    F-Stop: 2.8 (all the way open, it's not adjustable).
    Exposure 0 (lower/higher are worse.)

    Editing program (for brightness/contrast adjustment): Google Picasa 3.

    I tried doing a toned cent. But at that angle, toning disappears. Here is a barber quarter I did.

    This time Instead of laying the coin flat on a table, I stood it up, and pointed the lights at it.

    53 the lights are too bright in areas, the quarter and 54 pictures are much better then all previous ones. Only issue is that the new 54 picture shows a lot more spots.

    I moved the lamps in a different setting.

    Maybe too much light is bad? I could not capture the toning on this cent.
