How did this not get a details grade?

    Have you viewed it in hand? If not don’t make definitive judgments based off a picture

    I'm not sure that's a spot. Might be a reflection from some lighting.

    In the eyes of the TPGs a coin having verdigris on it is not and never has been a reason for not grading a coin. I couldn't even begin to guess the number of coins with verdigris on them that have been slabbed and graded !

    And when it comes to large cents I'd go so far as to say that you can find as many, and maybe even more, coins that have pitting and or signs of corrosion on them than those that don't.

    In other words, what you'e asking about is nothing unusual, to the contrary it is the norm.

    That spot is extremely light verdigris, fresh and fluffy.....quite easy to remove.

    It could be the lighting. I'm not convinced the green is on the coin based on this one photo.

    Or at least not on it to that extent. I’ve seen plenty of copper coins where you take a picture and they look like two completely different coins between the photo issues and what you see in hand
