The saddest thing is his answer was in his question. Copper coin with a silvery (zincy) plating = messed with by someone outside the mint = damage = no value. The conversation could/should have been over right there.

Certainly. Maybe it would have been better to repost a thread he hijacked later that night and got chastised by 3 or 4 senior members. IMHO this is not the proper forum for newbies with such disrespect for elders and answers they do not agree with. Disrespect lends to more disrespect...
