That's hard to do when you've been banned from PayPal for life.

This I wasn't aware of. Haven't been around here long enough. Do I dare ask why?

He had a debt of $100 for 60 days at which point they pulled the plug on him. He just goes from drama to drama on a weekly basis - sort of like our very own cointalk reality show - Money Boo Hoo!

When I sell I am very cautious about offending buyers, so I don't email them for nonpayment until five or six days have gone by, and then I am very polite about it. I know people may be on vacation or have internet problems, and I don't want to chase off return buyers or get negative feedback by seeming like a jerk. About a year ago it seemed like I had a lot of problems with people who never paid, but more recently they almost always pay eventually. Sometimes I have to open a case after a week goes by and then they pay, but it almost always happens. Still, I try to give them ample time, and always try to give them time at least until Friday or Monday, which I figure is when people get paid/return to work after the weekend.

    NO I DID NOT.

I don't know where you get this, and if I said it at any point in my posts, feel free to point it out.

I had 53 days LEFT to pay it when they called.

If you don't know what your talking about, then don't talk. I didn't appreciate it when you smeared me on other threads about what happened, and if you think your gonna spread false info about me, you have another think coming, ya hear? I have had quite enough of your BS.

  9. Is that really possible? It would be like JP Morgan refusing money. TC

I used to sell mags on ebay and I would take paypal or Postal Money order I never had a problem with one of them. I liked it take the check to the post office they send it through there machine yep its good cash in hand no PayPal fee's. I also had a buyer once that bought a mag on a Sunday afternoon I waited till Tues because of no activity and emailed them just saying Hi I see you bought one of my mags and Was just wondering how you wanted to pay for it? NOTHING Sat comes along I emailed them again and asked if they were gonna pay for the mag or should I realist it. At that time by Ebay rules you were supposed to state your payment method within 24 or 48 hours or something. Finally sat afternoon I get this Irate guy *****ing at me saying he was gonna leave neg feed back because I was being a Donkey Jack %#@ and if I had a real job and real life I would understand it takes time to get funds together and such. OHHH That Peed me off. I went right back at him stating the rules and if he did not have a way to pay or the funds he should not have bought it Not to worry I would relist it and let ebay decide who was to get the - feedback. he changed his tune real quick.

Money orders are a little different.

Unlike a check, the money for a money order is paid up front. So if I cash your money order, I KNOW that you had the money to pay for it, and I'm guaranteed funds.

Money orders are not faked as much as checks are fraudulently written. The scare that money orders are bad to use, was put out by eBay/Paypal to con the sheep into spending 3% on fees.

The money in Paypal is not FDIC insured, paypal is not even a bank. They are not bound by ANY banking regulations. They often freeze the accounts of people, banks don't do that crap.

Read up on paypal, you will find they often freeze people's accounts. Some people think they do this, so they can earn interest off of it, to drive their company.

The co-founder of Paypal wants to build a CITY on MARS.

Ya, that 3% your spending is gonna put a city on mars, how idiotic...

And you still didn't know some sellers didn't take money orders.

I think the word I highlighted says it all. You assumed the seller would accept a money order, without asking first. Asking should have been your first step, actually buying should have been your second. This is why you get yourself in trouble, with PayPal, eBay sellers, and members of this forum. You just don't get it. Post a link to the auction. I'm curious what terms the seller listed for payment.

Money Orders can be faked and/or stolen. Cashiers Checks can be faked as well with some even including micro-printing. Both have a level of risk associated with them.

PayPal on the other hand, can be your friend or, as some have experienced, your enemy. Regardless, as long as you clear it with your sellers everything should be ok.

Also remember that computers are unforgiving and on occasion, reminder emails can be sent out unintentionally.

Stuff Happens but I don't see the original subject matter of the thread as being a "trend". Just circumstance.

All this is really irrelevant. As a seller, be it eBay, on-line merchant, LCS, or WalMart, I can choose which forms of payment I accept or reject. I don't have to take your check, credit card, traveler's check, shiny beads, or money order. How that affects my business is also irrelevant, because that's not the point of the discussion. The buyer doesn't get to choose payment terms. The seller does. Then the buyer can either pony up or walk. The founder of PayPal can do whatever he wants with his money. It's his. That 3% is his fee for handling your on-line transaction. Out of that comes his cost for providing the servers, personnel, software, etc. There is nothing wrong with that. Same with eBay fees. Try to find a market like eBay on your own.

Failure to follow rules simply because you don't agree with them will get you in trouble every time.

Did you pay off your payPal balance?

They shut you down for having a negative balance for 60 days. Now you claim you had 53 days to pay off the balance of $100. There is absolutely no reason why if you had a negative balance because you cleaned out your bank account that they shouldn't expect payment right away. You claimed you had to spend the money for an emergency, and I believe you. But you should have an emergency fund that is NOT tied to buying coins!

True, but that only applies to legitimate money orders.

I wonder who lost money on this transaction with a fraudulent money order:

    http://boston.cbslocal.com/2012/11/28/thief-steals-rare-coins-from-lexington-coin-shop/

The only difference between a legitimate check and a legitimate money order is that a money order is paid up front. If you receive a fraudulent check or a fraudulent money order, all bets are off on you actually receiving any money in the long run once someone realizes it's fraudulent.

No, they banned him for having a negative account balance and then opening up another account to pay sellers from auctions he won with money he didn't even have in the first place. Sure he had $100 he lent a friend but he already owed $100 at the same time so technically he had no money and then he's off buying coins on other auctions he was also in debt to after winning. ;)

So basically he was using Paypal as a creditor at that point because no bank will give him a credit card with any type of credit line because well, I wouldn't give him any credit either since he's proven to the world on a public forum that he can't handle or manage a budget or his money. He's a huge risk and unless he changes his ways, will continue to be a huge risk. I don't see Detecto at this rate ever having any type of good credit score at the rate he's going.

Since you didn't respond in the the other thread did you link the same bank account to both your paypal accounts?
