How could NGC do this ? Do I have any recourse for this ?

The reverse looks ok, the Obverse looks like it's had some work around the date and the lady in the fields that would get it pegged as cleaned in my opinion, from these pictures, maybe before you owned it, maybe a long time ago, but once the luster is impaired, it don't come back. Just off the pictures of course, I'd need to see it in hand to know for sure but spots on the obverse don't reflect right and look flat and dull compared to other areas.</p><p><br /></p><p>Just one persons opinion on this. comparing the two it's the same coin, lighting and angle makes all the difference in the world on how a coin photographs moreso with silver and toning than copper.</p><p> A sample of my experiments with different Kelvins (temperature of the light).</p><p>Incadescent is more like the top one a warm light. 3000K</p><p>Middle is a halogen or LED cool light 7000K</p><p>Bottom is a neutral "daylight" 4000K not too yellow, not too blue.</p><p>the paper is a white sheet of paper. I'd say, wait to see it in hand.
