How are altered mintmarks added???

Which TPG slabbed it?

I recall hearing about a similar incident on a Accugrade slabbed coin.

I recently purchased an ANACS slabbed 1876 dime CC au50
after some very hot weather here, the safe was unbearable. The cc mintmarks fell off. But there's no traces of glue, soder or any residue. No embossing evidence nothing. I'm sure it's altered why else would a piece of the coin fell off?
I think they should start fanning acetone at the mintmark see if it falls off.
