I try to use proper English, including punctuation, and I appreciate it when others do as well. The misuse of a comma or apostrophe here and there does not overly bother me. However, the misuse of words such as their and there and meat and meet, to,two and too etc., suggests much to me about the writer. I recently misspelled Manitoba several times while posting here on CT before someone was polite enough to inform me of my ongoing mistake. I appreciated this, as I don't care to look foolish by misspelling something I should know. And that's the point. Most of these grammatical errors are basic English and should be well known to anyone where English is their first language. Having said all of that, this is a hobby forum where we enthusiasts can come together to discuss our hobby. We shouldn't have to be overly concerned about our grammar or lack thereof (notice I said "overly"). BTW, y'all is an acceptable abbreviation for those of us from the South here in the U.S., and we use this word in our spoken tongue. And although I am a "Yank" in the eyes of a Brit or perhaps a Cannuck, I am no Yankee. I'm quite proud to be from the South and to be able to properly use the word y'all, the plural of which is "all y'all". ;)
