    Looks more like a lamination to me. What does the obverse look like?

    If it is a CUD it's a minor one.. no big premium
    If it is a Lamination it's also minor with no big premium

    No much more than $2.00 - $3.00 and some here might say that is too much

    Well it my first find if either so it makes me happy none the less.

    I will say it's a Lamination Error. Which is caused by a defect in the planchet.
    A soak in Acetone before storage will do it good. 1939-d is a semi-key date for the late "30's", Nice find, I think these are fun because they can still be found.
