In any given month, there are probably 10 to 50 or more counterfeited 1804 Silver Dollars as well as hundreds of other counterfeited Rare Coins offered up for auction on eBay. Most but not all of these Sellers are located in Shanghai, China. It is really sad because there are also good, honest and honorable Coin Dealers in Shanghai that are losing business due to these Sellers of counterfeited coins and the fact that many folks stay away from any Coin Dealers (Sellers) in Shanghai.</p><p><br /></p><p>If your coin is the same size and weight of a genuine (Original or Restike) Silver Dollar and you are still not sure of the diagnosis given here on the Coin Talk Forum, then seek a Professional or Grading Service to have the coin checked for authenticity.
