An amazing diversity of history and artistry as well as being nice collectable chunks of silver.</p><p> </p><p>Every collection should have at least ONE taler IMHO. There is no excuse for not having at least a Maria Theresia Taler in your collection. <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie1" alt=":)" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" /> It's one of the most beautiful coins in the world. The fact that they are still being struck is living testimony to that. I would try to get hold of one of the early strikes of the Burgau type (the common trade taler). In circa VF condition they are often available for just a little above silver bullion prices. That's the same as you'll pay for a restrike excepting the real McCoy is far nicer. I'm greedy.
