They aren't going to do Supreme Court Justices (yet).
    What's proposed:
A few years of historically significant women.
A few years of "youth sports"
A few years of "sports participants with disabilities"

I was just speaking hypothetically in response to a post from @Beardigger.

Oh, I knew that. I should have been more clear in my response.

Why am I reminded of "Mary Poppins"?

Naturally it will pass. And a design will be forthcoming. 95% of us won't like it. The remains 5% will adore it. And yes, it will be overpriced. Accept the facts as nothing changes with these types of coins.

Took me more toward Gilbert and Sullivan.

Thanks, now the Major-General song will be stuck in my head all weekend. :)

Right now probably not. There's much bigger fights that will be taking up the majority of their time at the moment. Something as meaningless as that bill can easily just linger and fade away

Which, thank Peter, we need not discuss here. :)

I wasn't discussing it at all, just pointing out that things that pass with such little attention in the way this did can very easily linger and just disappear.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you were.

I understand but the House has passed it. The Senate has their own version. I think it will get done very soon. Congress would rather deal with this than other issues.

It's certainly possible. If you look at it though the house just kind of said yea sure it wasn't something anyone really seemed to be concerned about with how it was passed. I wouldnt really be surprised either way if it just sort of gets the yea sure passage or gets ignored.

These days I get more excited getting a regular eagle quarter in my change than any of the state or other versions of late.

Lemme ask a question, would you rather they go back to doing the things the way they used to do them ? No new designs at all, for decade after decade, things just stay the same ?

From a coin collectors point of view, the problem with new coin designs is always the same, some like 'em, some don't. It's been that way for as long as coins have existed. But at some point down the road, all new coin designs end up being collected by people just like all of us. From ancients to the coins of today there's somebody out there collecting them - because they like them. And in the end that's what it's all about ;)
