House or Temple

    I could barely convince myself that this coin represents an ancient temple and not a mere house, as it looks. The young Emperor is very likely Elagabalus. Phoenician for sure, but is it from Tyre ? It could also be rare as far as the design of the temple. The coin weighs 11 g. Thanks for your comments.

    You're right. The coin was struck at Tyre under Diaduminian. The hexastyle temple belongs to the Phoenician Koinon. Rouvier 2343. Cheers.
