OK, Scrooge, you're just as tight as ever.... :D PCGS graded the coin VF 30. My subjective opinion on the coin & grade: I think the coin is as detailed as most VF 30s in this series that PCGS holders, but I happen to agree with others that it's a low-end VF at best with more traditional grading sandards. I'd technical grade it a choice VF 20 or 25 (and likely price it as a 30 or 35 ;) ). If the coin did get a grade bump, it was because it got the benefit of the doubt for originality sake -- take a look at the bust quarters you see on the bourse or in your local shop. First off, you'll likely have trouble finding a large supply because they are rare. I suspect you'll see fifty or even one hundred bust halves for every bust quarter. And just like the bust halves, for every fifty or one hundred cleaned/damaged one you'll find one that looks problem-free and original-looking. IMO, the TPGs understand this very well and tend to give the better grades for the more original and eye appealing examples (i.e. market grading). I love the dove grey coloration and "crusty" look to the coin. It has the smooth circulated look that I'm looking for in the older types, and I think it matches well with some other coins I've added to my collection recently. Anyway, I appreciate all the guesses and comments (please keep them coming!), and as always... Have fun...Mike
