NGC graded the coin MS 62 RB. IMHO, NGC nailed the grade on this one. Here are my thought on the coin...The coin has absolutely no wear, and is correctly graded MS rather than a very nice AU as is often seen in low mS grades in TPG slabs. The obverse has a large area of discolored brown caused by being handled -- remnants of a palm/finger print are fairly apparent in the pictures and more apparent on the coin in hand. The cartwheen is impared on the obverse by the discoloration, but remains virtually complete on the reverse. Ther are numerous ticks and taps (perhaps "keg marks" from a hoard) on both sides and they are what limit the grade to 62. All in all this is a very attractive coin, but in the end I returned the coin as I was hoping for better cartwheel luster on the obverse. Take care and thanks for your comments...Mike p.s. Spider, what did I do to make you angry? Believe me it was not on purpose.
