If not, your home is a target and you should attempt to find out how and why. Growing up in a really high crime area I've learned just how stories of what people have in their homes starts. And it grows and grows. As to the crime rate not going up? Yeah, right. If you live in some of these high crime areas, you well know what is happening. Just less and less crimes are going on the books so that the local politians appear to have solved the crime rate. Yes in some areas like Chicago the murder rate has dropped from the usual 700+/year but that is only what is reported. In the last few years there has been numerous robberies in my area and none, NONE have made the newspapers. None make any stories on TV, the radio, no where. Nice way to stop crime, just don't mention it.[/QUOTE]
