He just bought it at the FUN show for $2585 through Heritage. Looks like he juiced his images a little. Either that or Heritage took some sub-par images(I highly doubt it). It's still a hell of a coin though. Not worth the asking price though. http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=1201&lotNo=3483
Thanks. I did not think those were that juiced. And, my experiences with Heritge is they do not show color well at all. However, it looks like they tried something with those pictures and their slab pictures show a much brighter color.
Just to play devil's advocate, Heritage is notorious for providing subpar images when it comes to colorful toning. Even their beauty shots are not that good. Beauty shots is the name they use for the close up photos, at least that is what I was told by my consignment director. Below are photos of a 1941-D Jefferson Nickel NGC MS67 5FS, the first photo is Heritage's which I cropped and the second is my photo which has only had brightness correction and auto contrast, no saturation adjustments. As you can see, there is a dramatic difference between my photo and the Heritage photo. And while I believe that Jay has made a saturation adjustment to his photo, my guess is that the actual appearance of the coin is somewhere between his photo and the Heritage photo.
I have green coins (a few, anyway) and I have pink/purple coins. What I don't have are the pink and green coins.
Nice looking coin - can't say for sure about pictures being juiced. This is a good example of coins going straight from heritage to ebay with a big mark up. And in some cases I do not think heritage prices are wholesale - but closer to retail.
