[QUOTE="Ryro, post: 3567299, member: 91461"]I recently came across a fun lil holed denarius of an emperor that I didn't have in silver, made my usual po boy low ball offer and they excepted it! Admittedly I do like holed coins adding to the stories my mind comes up with on the journey that coin had taken before arriving in my grubby grubbers. A couple points of interest on this one; The entry hole on the obv appears almost square. Making me think this was done in antiquity with an old hammered nail...though the reverse exit wound isn't as round. The reveres is really what sold me on this one. Very worn and holed, it was hard to identify due to the uniqueness of Salus seat and the groovy snake coming out of the hole...I mean altar! As everyone always says (double so in this type of worn condition) in hand it really does shine. It was just fun enough and surprisingly cool enough once received that I though this little scrub merited its own thread...Check it out!
