I've been watching and bid on a 1877-S Trade Dollar that ends Tonight. Sorry I don't know how to put a link to it. Nice coin without the nasty hole, but bids are up to $102. as I'm posting this. I'm surprised at the amount it's going for considering the damage.

Remember, when you buy a damaged coin you'll always have a damaged coin.

Silly me thought a badly damaged 1877-S Trade Dollar would only go for around $50. max

That 1877-S Trade Dollar with the big hole in it sold for $104.50. Living proof that a badly damaged rare coin will sell for decent money. Far more than I expected.

You can buy a normal heavily circulated example for around $100-$150/ that's to much i wouldn't pay over $40 for it.

If anyone has a holed trade dollar for under $60 I would buy it. Can't find one on eBay for under $80.

I need it for my Dansco 7070, Holed XF pieces are attractive enough for a poor schlub like myself.
