    Hello,

I have another coin that I need more experienced eyes to give me their opinions on.
This is an 1809 Capped Bust Half Dollar that I recently obtained.
At first when I saw it, I thought, "dang, another coin ruined by someone making jewelry"
but then I took a closer look and the edges of the "o" look much like something struck by a die. They have a very similar look to the other struck edges around them so now I'm turning to the collective and seeing what you think. Send to get graded or am I just fooling myself into thinking this was not done outside the mint?
I included a pic of the reverse to show that the "hole" does not go all the way through.
    Thank you in advance for your input. 20210412_142543.jpg 20210412_142629.jpg WIN_20210412_13_56_37_Pro.jpg WIN_20210412_14_13_41_Pro.jpg WIN_20210412_14_14_27_Pro.jpg 20210412_142610.jpg 20210412_142617.jpg

Hello and Welcome . It looks like an attempt at making a hole to wear .

    I agree with @SensibleSal66 !

It looks like someone used a drill or small punch and the displaced metal along the perimeter has flattened out after years of circulation.

I guess I already knew and was just hoping I was wrong. Thank you for the confirmations!
