Holding History Coins Auction #9 is closing today!
This sale features a number of interesting Greek coins, including some unlisted denominations, a high grade Philip II Tetradrachm, and a high grade Ptolemy IV Tetradrachm. For Provincials there is a Cleopatra and Marc Antony from Syria, and a scarcer Julia Domna from Macedon. Republican features a Quadrigatus and a rare quinarius of Concidius Paetus. Imperial features a Vespasian aureus, a scarce Vespasian sestertius, and a broad selection of silver. Some scarcer emperors include Pertinax, Albinus, Pupienus, Balbinus, Quietus, and Vabalathus (sole reign). Lastly there is a very scarce AE4 of Zeno.
The rest of the sale includes a Constans II solidus, a run of NGC graded denars, and a selection of British hammered and milled, followed by a wide range of Conder trade tokens, which includes many interesting types which highlight the fascinating range of political, cultural, and architectural motifs displayed on this series. The sale concludes with a few United States and world coins, as well as group lots.
