There are many reasons for posting this "find" so the world can view it (Coin Talk forum). Legitimacy was one of them. If this coin certifies as authentic/legitimate the details of this find will be published in this forum. Just waiting and watching now.
That is on a single example. The MD isn't a die marker for the real one. It is just saying that MD has been found on a real example.
Every example ken look at exhibited strike doubling on the mint-mark Except for the last one that one also if I remember correctly had strike doubling on the 6 and 9 too along with the mint mark
I believe the counterfeits Mort Goodman made were 1969 DDO with no mintmark. I might be wrong though. I know when the authorities busted him, they ended up destroying some authentic 1969 S DDO cents too. I have a thread talking a little bit about that as I acquired some books once owned by Mort Goodman. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/mort-goodman-a-little-numismatic-history.408287/
What does one do with a Abe coin like that???? Cuz if you sell it. You might always regret it. I would like to relive the dream
Forgive me if I sounded liked a killjoy, that was not my intention. I'm glad my oldest son is still into coins to some degree, and he will know what to do when my time comes. I guess I was just thinking that time are tough and who knows anymore. But good points on old jars and filled cans still hiding somewhere. I wish only the best on this find.
