make sure you use something, a piece of steel that is really smooth, it took me two halfs to realize that whatever surface i use beneath the coin has to be smooth. originaly i used an old anval inherited from my great grandfather and although it flarred the rim the rim was dinged knicked and more. once i got it right a used a lathe with a cutter to cut out center, cant remember what tool is actually called
