    I've always thought these carvings quite crude.....Not because I'm not (mind you), at times, but because of the disrespect visited upon 'Liberty'.

    Interesting. I've never thought about it before as there were so many minted. I see your point tho'. ;) It's definitely artistic to some, I didn't bid on it and it looks like it didn't sell either. Looks like some agree with you. :D

    You very seldom see one of these except on seated dollars or trade dollars (I have seen every denomination though except half dime). This one is very crudely done. Some of them are VERY well done though.

    Didn’t there used to be a member here who carved these things but he was REALLY hood about it. HoboBill or something like that. Does anyone else remember him?
