Now if you could find even just one 2007-D Business Strike Sacagawea in MS68 -- you'd make a killing on that coin!
In spite of what some people believe, I have better results searching for high grades in Mint bags. Unfortunately, the 2007-D's were a bust. Chris
The 2007-D Sacagawea has always been a curiosity to me. It is the only business strike coin of the Sacagawea/Native American series from 2000-present that has no examples graded higher than MS67 by either NGC or PCGS. The NGC population in MS67 is 84 coins, and the PCGS population in MS67 is 294. The total combined populations in MS67 between NGC and PCGS are 378 / 0. If any roll searchers out there could find even one 2007 Business strike example that graded MS68, the coin would likely go for a fortune to a registry player.
Without a doubt! I searched 4 - $250 bags and nothing would have graded better than MS66. They were so beat up that I can only assume that the Denver employees were PO'ed and took their anger out on them. Just out of curiosity, do you collect the Sacs? Chris
NGC recently released the populations of graded Civil War Patriotic Tokens. This is the popular Fuld 174/272a token and is graded NGC MS65RB. It has a population of 4 with none graded higher in RB and none graded RD.
The database of PCGS is beyond questioning! There's a reason they're 1/0 - no one else has sent these in. That still means they are the best coins of the type. And the worst I guess, for that matter.
My Choice For SLQ Perfection This was my personal choice for the technically "virtually perfect" Standing Liberty Quarter "Full Head" specimen. I still haven't determined how to display my images "full size" in this venue. Any assistance, as the image was generated 600 x 1200?
