Excellent! :thumb: Glad you got them and even at the time of your birthday! :hail: Happy Birthday! :bdaycake:
Well, I just got back from the PO and I have mine! Thank you very much! ( I had to pay .34 postage, but that's no big deal. )
Dang right, mine is today. lol But I don't think I will count this one since I am already retired. lol
@ blsmothermon: What??? Pay postage!!! That is puzzling and I'm very sorry to hear about this. Everything I shipped was weighed using the Automated Postal Service (APS) machine at the USPS. The packages/envelopes were all priced and postage paid, applied accordingly to their own rates and services. Very strange. My apologies for the trouble. Thanks for letting me know. I'm glad to know that you got your winning coins. :thumb:
Hi Krispy, I just got my coins from my mailbox..they came today. I am very thrilled with them! Most intriguing at first blush is the very very tiny coin... I will find out what each of them are. Kindest regards, Lucy :angelbounce: Tessekkur Edirim! :angelbounce: Muchas Gracias! :angelbounce: Muito obrigado!
Very glad to hear they weren't detained in flight and made it safely to you. I hope they bring you a lot of fun researching them. I can see there has already been some language exploration! I think the Portuguese coins are particularly striking and old-world looking. Here's the Wiki link for Spanish Pesetas
Why, thank you very much. I opted not to go to a casino today as we went yesterday for a buffet. It's rumored that the birthday is your "lucky" day. lol I decided to preserve my stake until next week. But my wife made enchiladas and my son brought a cake. It doesn't get better than that. Thanks again, gary
Thank you very much for the neat coins! I have few foreign coins like these, so these will be treasured. Thanks again!
Krispy, I forgot to ask about your return address. I see Krispy written in, but what is the bar code? I think some modern cellphones will read these blocks of information. Thanks again for the coins!
Glad you got the package and enjoy the coins. The label is a data matrix pattern or 'qr code'. See invx.com. Yes, scan technology available on some mobiles enabled to read these can access the information and convert it to text. The technology has been around for a good dozen years or so in the public realm. Other countries have used it extensively in print advertising and to quickly share information about address or contact location from magazine/newspaper articles. If you look closely at ads in the States, they are finally beginning to appear here now too.
