LOL! Sorry to frustrate you. I tried to make it easy by not requiring any research and reading just guessing. I'm glad you joined in and stuck it out! :thumb:

:angelbounce::jumping-jack::angelbounce::jumping-jack: Ya Hoooooooooooooo!!! I was afraid to read your reply. Whew! I think I learned more geography in the last few days than I did all along the way! Thank you very much for this contest. It has been fun, and very challenging (at least for me - North is always what's in front of me..)
And the other thing, you have a kind following here -- can tell by all the participants. Humorous, to say the least..

    Thank you Krispy,

the frustrating part was to be in the right region, but be a couple of countries too far north. oh, well. it was fun, no matter the outcome!!

p.s. Krispy, (T)P I I G S that's why Portugal just HAD to be, for me in my mind (T=Turkey made the front page the other day..) Not as hard for people like me as guessing countries like Kazakhstan or Namibia or Jersey.

Excellent idea for following your guess! You nearly hit it with Portugal in a previous guess and Portugal was one country guessed that I did NOT include on the long list of eliminated countries posted earlier today!

Hi Jon, they were (at least on my list and eliminating this and that, measuring rough distance..) Pakistan, Bulgaria, & Hungary.
    Congratulations to you!

I gave some geographical hints about the remaining two envelopes recently. I based the distances from Portugal to the capital cities of Kenya, Somalia and Zimbabwe noting that I. was about 4000 miles away from G. and the countries in G. were between 250 - 700 miles apart approximately. A very vague clue I know but that was the answer to my distances.

Well, I want you to know that list is what confused me -- Crossed it to my own elimination list (I'm sure I have too many countries at 257.) I did note that Portugal was not on there, but then there were some eliminated where there looked to be a possibility of still being correct. Confirmed my gut on Portugal anyway. It's all guessing , but it has to feel good to you to get folks actually 'thinking'. Myself, I looked up each country to see if they had coinage, so at the end of the day, I have a learned a great deal of info.
    Regards, Lucy

That's terrific! There are a lot of nations out there that issue coins, many we many not even think of off the top of our heads... and many countries we may tend to even forget exist if we don't occasionally turn our attention to them. Coins are a great educational tool for us.
