There's always nine more... on your hands and ten more on the toes. You have just 4 coins to pull. o_O

But do be careful with that tool so as not to dent the paperboard of the OGP, if the condition of it matters to you or for it's longer term 'value'. That's why I and others have used a plastic tool that's softer to the surrounding materials.

    Yeah I'm doing it carefully.

My RP and proof are first rate. The enhanced has a prominent milk spot and the uncirculated looks like it's been through a war. Maybe the 3 of us together could put one decent set together.

It's a sad state of affairs that the Mint sends out such quality, and I'm sorry for those receiving such poor/unacceptable pieces, though this should impact the mintage and populations as those figures as they become more accurate over time, impacting the fewer quality or "perfect" examples collectors are left with.

There really is no excuse for such lack of quality.

If I was putting the air on the coin, then yes I would lol. This was on the plastic so I was less concerned.

Does the mint say that the coins are all perfect on their website?

Dang sounds like everyone's having a tough time with these.
My set finally arrived today. I was very pleased with everything. While I don't think the design of the ogp is anything special, I don't think it is ugly either.
Both proofs and the enhanced coin all appear to be 70s to my naked eye without a super nip picky inspection. I did look them over pretty thoroughly. The unc coin did however have two very tiny marks between the 2 and 0 of the date. Surface metal definitely was moved there, but the marks are so small that they are nearly unnoticeable.
As far as getting the coins out of the velvet holder I just used my fingers. It did take quite a bit of effort and patience but it is possible. And in order to not have to do that again I didn't push them all the way back into the bottom when I put each coin back into it's respective spot.
Overall I am very satisfied with my entire set and with the whole ordering process and speed of shipping from the mint.

So you have "enhanced" proofs from Philly! Score! (Sarcasm)

I'm not fond of the enhanced proof. I think it looks like a regular proof with hazy fields. Just one man's opinion.

I tried giving it the "finger", several times, but it just didn't work.

I have to laugh because this technique goes against everything I've ever learned regarding coins and how you should never, ever, ever, approach a coin with a hard metal object in your hand! Especially a screwdriver!

Yeah, but at least these are in air tites. I had to use a small screw driver to pry the coins out of the holder as well, being vewwy careful (elmur fudd voice) not to damage the mint packaging.

Scratches on a proof coin are unacceptable. I am very forgiving when it comes to uncirculated coins from the mint but I expect superior quality in the proof designation.........and up until now I've never been disappointed.

I've been disappointed plenty of times, needing to return inferior quality proof coins with milk haze spots and very noticeable scratches!

It just floors me that any company or organization that touts their technology, craft and skilled workforce, putting forth their supposedly finest products, that will go under the scrutiny of collectors, would EVER miss such quality issues and still they send out coins with such problems. Yes, they produce vast quantities of products in large mintages, under tight budget and deadlines, dispatched to many eager and/or impatient customers, so statistically something may be less than perfect, but there seems to be too great a percentage of customers who repeatedly report problems such as these.

While they've raised the bar in being able to meet near consistent high standards in minting what the certification (TPG) services deem near perfect or perfect by industry trading standards, so too has the expectation of customers risen and come to consistently expect superior products delivered to them, free from such blatant flaws and QC concerns.

It's only too bad that they don't stand behind their products and offer free return shipping when these issues are as legitimate as unclean planchets, blemished and scratched coins, especially on proof coins. Plenty of other companies manage to offset the prices of return shipping, even if it be worked into the price you pay for the merchandise, but as we know the Mint already reaps a bundle of profit from these sales.

Good grief, you guys must HATE older coins, and barf at the site of something like an MS63 Indian Cent. Oh the humanity, an almost imperceptible die nick!

Mine are gorgeous, each and every one of them. I love this set and wish I could afford to order more. Enhanced uncirculated is really my favorite. Details on the devices are hard to make out on the reverse proof. I also got the two clad uncircs and they look excellent also.

For the amount of money that we paid for these sets, Iontyre, we were expecting more in the nature of quality. Scratches on a proof coin don't cut it for me as well as for many others. I'm glad you're happy with the quality of your set. :)

Bunch of whiners expecting every coin to be 70's. So sad this is where coin collecting has gone. So sad.
