    If the deceased didn't co-own the SDB with you, or didn't name you as executor of the estate, the bank, FCU, or fiduciary, could possibly have to go through probate before they can release the SDB to another interested third party. This could vary from state to state. Probate could potentially take years to settle.

    Correct. That's why I broke out the prices separately for the gold commemoratives (same composition and weight as 1837-1933 half eagles, 0.242 ozt actual gold weight) and the quarter-ounce $10 modern gold eagle in the original post.
