Brings up some points on backing-up. First of course is do it, which I'm sure they did. Second is two words: "offsite, offline". Offsite is easy: use the cloud. Problem is that if you use the cloud or permanently attached drives for backup and get hacked, good chance the hackers will have access to your backup. Best is to use external hard drives or solid state drives for backup and periodically detach them and move them to an alternate location.
