Here's a sleeper that I just "woke up"....1794 Large Cent

    Pinpointing is an essential skill that you just "have to" master. Some machines are much easier to pinpoint with than others. I use an old white's analog machine and it's very easy to pinpoint with by de-tuning and re-tuning. Some newer and/or lesser detectors are much more difficult to master. The White's machines have given me 3 plus decades of pure fun. You just never know what's going to be in the next hole.

    That is just amazing! what a feeling that must have been pulling a 1794 Cent out of the ground. Just fantastic.

    As you said, metal detecting means a lot of time finding nothing and being dissapointed, getting wet and cold (and nagged by the wife!). BUT, that is all compensated by those sweet moments when you realize what you have just found. Glad to say i have had that feeling many times too.

    Congratulations, worth more to the detectorist than any bought coin!
