Took awhile to find this one. It looks beat up but it’s in Fine+ condition. And it’s 160 years old. As with CSA Notes, the paper is extremely thin. A few years ago I purchased a T-53 1862 Note with mismatched plate letters. Those letters are C and G. On this Note, which is an error, the plate letters are still mismatched but these are H and A. Both are a T-53. The plate letters are on the left and right hand sides at the top of the Note on the front. The serial number is hand written in black ink, No. 63189. It is tightly trimmed and has a number of folds. Good wear but not torn and no pinholes. And no real staining. It was issued on December 2nd, 1862 and printed by J.T. Paterson & Co. It was engraved by Keating & Ball from Columbia, S.C. This is a 2nd SERIES as indicated on the Note. At the time of printed the value was $5.00 and the back of the Note was also printed. Today, the value is just over $500.00 for this not in this condition.
